You can keep from contracting the AIDS virus just by having a pill! Such a pill may soon be in the market, scientists believe. A combination of 2 drugs is already used to treat HIV infection. And it has shown promise at preventing the virus in monkeys.
Officials now plan to expand early tests on healthy high-risk men and women.
Thomas Folks, a federal scientist says, “If it works, it could be distributed quickly and could blunt the epidemic.”
